Fishing, Friendship, And Wyoming In Skip Ewing’s New Song
It's not that often that a major country songwriter, musician, and singer chooses to move to Wyoming, but a few years ago, Skip Ewing did just that. After over 20-years of visiting the state, he decided to make Wyoming his home.
Just about 5-years-ago, I sent a random email to talk to Skip about his album, Wyoming, and that transaction started a friendship that has led to many hours of laughter, music industry discussions, listening to new music, sipping on whiskey, cameos in music videos, and dinner with our ladies at their cabin near Dubois.

Honestly, I feel like I've known Skip for longer than 5-years, because of the impact he's had on my life through his songs. Through the years, he's had hits with Collin Ray and the song 'Love, Me', he's written with and had multiple songs cut by Kenny Chesney (Me and You, You Had Me From Hello), had hits with like 'Rebecca Lynn', 'Someone Else's Star' with Bryan White, and even did a duet and had a hit song with Reba.

Now that he's living in Wyoming, Skip's using the state's strong positive vibes to be inspired to write and release new music. His album Dragonfly will be full of incredible songs, including the one he's releasing today, 'Me & God and a Fishing Pole,' and it's another song that will hit you right in the boo boo.
I mentioned that I had dinner at Skip's cabin, and while we were there, we started sipping on whiskey and listening to a couple of his new tunes. The first one we listened to was a duet he has out with Mae Estes called 'Stronger When You're Broken', and the next was 'Me & God and a Fishing Pole'.
Fishing is part of the "Wyoming Way," and this song hits home to any type of angler or outdoorsperson, and 'Me & God and a Fishing Pole' is an anthem for those people.
Hey, old man, are you listening? I know my life's been full of sin. Probably got no chance of gettin in. That's how some Sunday mornings go. When it's me and God and a fishin pole.
The song and video were released today, and I encourage you to check them out. Here's the link to download the song, and you can watch the video below. It's going to hit home and likely become your favorite song. I'm just warning ya.
