PREGAME:

* Wyoming running back Samuel "Tote" Harris will miss today's game against the Huskies. The sophomore is still in concussion "protocol" but should be ready to play next Friday night against Air Force, according to multiple sources who are familiar with the situation. Sophomore cornerback Tyson Shamsid-Deen (hand surgery) makes his return to the lineup today after missing the last three games. He will wear a cast.

* Despite a wet, heavy snow storm blanketing the region just two days ago, today's game-time temperatures will rise to near 70 degrees. The white stuff, per usual, is already long gone.

* Northern Illinois has yet to win a game in its first season as a member of the Mountain West Conference, but the schedule hasn't exactly been a cake walk. The Huskies' first five games have included losses to a pair of Power-4 programs -- Iowa and Arizona -- both on the road, along with setbacks against Georgia State and Air Force, which are a combined 8-2 this fall. Even the FCS home loss to Illinois State isn't looking as bad as it could. The Redbirds are 4-2.

* Hats off to the Cowboy Joe Club, the fundraising arm of Wyoming athletics, who put on its annual auction last night inside the War Memorial Fieldhouse. That event raised $1,042,231, "the single greatest night of impact in Wyoming Athletics' history." Was told this was a record-breaking night by a mile. Last year was the most successful, raising more than $600,000.

* Wyoming is wearing its traditional uniforms today: white helmet, brown jersey, gold pants. Huskies are wearing black lids, white tops and red pants.
