Highway 230 Is Buckling In Areas, WYDOT Crews Work To Find Cause
Geologists with the Wyoming Department of Transportation are working in southeast Wyoming today to determine the cause of severe buckling of a roadway.
Geologists will be drilling roadway core samples on Highway 230 roughly ten miles from the Colorado border and again five miles from the border. They are trying to discover what is causing the high moisture content resulting in the severe buckling of the road surface.
Currently there are no weight restrictions in the damaged areas, but that may change depending on the findings.
Motorists should be aware of WYDOT personnel and flaggers in those areas, as well as some lane restrictions.
