Wyoming celebrates it's 124th birthday today, and a celebration for it was held at the Wyoming Territorial Prison in Laramie.

The event kicked off with Wyoming author and guest speaker Bill Sniffin speaking about Wyoming, how it came to be a state, and interesting facts and stories from around the state that many have never heard before.

It followed up with a free hot dog lunch and activities for the whole family. There was even a historical presentation from Dr. Ann Birney as she  portrays Amelia Earhart as she returns to Wyoming from her flight around the world.

The celebration offered a variety of family events and kid friendly activities at the celebration. These include wagon rides, trackless train rides, music, a shooting gallery, rain gutter boat races and more.

Admission into the Territorial Prison is free all day, so you can see all the exhibits until 7 p.m. on July 10.

We got photos of the event to share with the community.
