Gov. Matt Mead Appoints New Member to UW Board of Trustees
Macey Moore of Douglas has been appointed by Governor Matt Mead to the University of Wyoming Board of Trustees, the Governor’s Office says.
Moore will replace Larry Gubbels, who resigned on Oct. 27, citing health concerns. His term would have run through Feb 28, 2019.
Gov. Mead provided a number of reasons for choosing Moore.
“I felt it was important to appoint another person from Converse County to fill Larry’s seat and I’m pleased Macey agreed to serve. She is a UW graduate, an accomplished entrepreneur and has strong ties to her community and Wyoming,” said Governor Mead in a statement. “Larry will be missed. I appreciate his service and wish him the best.”
Moore is a businesswoman who owns a real estate firm in Douglas and a sheep and cattle ranch in Converse County along with her husband.
She is currently on the Eastern Wyoming College Douglas Advisory Committee as well as many other community boards and volunteer committees and has a Finance degree from the UW College of Business.
“I am honored to have this opportunity and look forward to the challenges ahead,” said Moore in a statement. “The University of Wyoming has a growing role in the success of our kids, and that success is the future of our great State.”
