Federal Shutdown Won’t Affect WYDOT Operations

A number of government services have been affected by the recent shutdown that is expected to last until Congress resumes in January. The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) sent out a press release today (December 26) to assure the public that it will not be one of those services.

According to the press release, WYDOT will "use its borrowing authority to make sure that construction contractors get paid for the work they do on Wyoming highways." The release also noted that WYDOT services will continue as usual, and that the department will be open for regular hours on Thursday, December 27, Friday, December 28, and Monday, December 31.

Though WYDOT offices will be closed on New Year's Day, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and its dispatch, along with WYDOT maintenance workers, will still work to maintain the safety of Wyoming travelers.
