The University of Wyoming women's soccer team will continue play at home this week as the Cowgirls take on Northern Colorado at 4 p.m. Wednesday and Idaho State on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex. Live stats and video for both matches will be available on GoWYO.com.

It was a trying weekend for UW, as the squad lost to Weber State on Friday 3-2, and fell 1-0 to New Mexico State on Sunday. Senior Lucie McDowell and sophomore Mollee Ramsay recorded goals for Wyoming against Weber State, while juniors Sara Paul and Alison Clarke were credited with assists. Wyoming's defense held the Wildcats to five first-half shots and finished with 14 overall. The game-tying goal for the Wildcats came in the 79th minute, followed shortly by the game winner just nine minutes later.

Sunday's contest with New Mexico State turned out to be a defensive battle and despite outshooting the Aggies 14-6, Wyoming was never able to find the back of the net. NMSU's lone goal of the match in the 50th minute proved to be the only goal the Aggies would need.

For the season, McDowell has 20 shots, five goals and 10 total points. Ramsay and senior Liz O'Reilly have two goals on the season, as Paul has scored once from 11 shots and also has the team lead with five assists.

Northern Colorado returns five players from the 2012 All-Big Sky Team that finished the year with a 6-7-5 overall record and 4-2-3 in conference. UNC comes into Wednesday's match with a 2-3-1 record after playing to a 0-0 draw with New Mexico State last Friday. Sophomore forward Essence Ortiz-Laneir has scored twice for the Bears, as senior goalkeeper Natalie D'Adamio has recorded 35 saves.

Idaho State lost both matches last weekend to drop to 2-5. The Bengals lost to Hawai`i 4-1 before falling to Florida Gulf Coast 5-1. Leading the Bengals are senior Allyson Stainbrook and junior Amanda Ellsworth, each of whom have scored three goals.  Sophomore goalkeeper Sheridan Hapsic has started every game for ISU while recording 37 saves.

Wyoming is 8-2-1 all-time against the Bears, most recently beating UNC 2-0 to claim the Front Range Derby last season on Sept. 6, 2012, in Greeley, Colo., thanks to goals from Olivia Mohtadi and McDowell.

The last time the Cowgirls matched up with the Bengals was in 2009 at home. ISU took home their first ever victory against Wyoming by a 2-1 score. UW's only goal came from a header by Carmen Blume off a corner kick by Jerrica DiVencenzo. In the 86th minute, the Bengals recorded the game winner.  Wyoming is 3-1-1 all-time against the Bengals.
