Cheyenne Couple Arrested After Fight With Teenage Daughter
A Cheyenne man and his wife were arrested Sunday night after police say the man hit and choked their 17-year-old daughter.
Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Officer Dan Long says police were called to a disturbance at 3506 Duff Avenue around 8 p.m.
"The wife saw her daughter texting inappropriate things to some other boy (and) was basically accusing her of sleeping around," said Long. "They got into an argument and that's when the fight escalated and the father ended up hitting the girl in the mouth, getting on top of her and grabbing her throat."
Long says an ambulance was called, but it's unclear whether the teen was taken to the hospital.
The father, identified as 41-year-old Rufus Thorne, was arrested for strangulation of a household member and domestic battery, while his wife, 42-year-old Robin Thorne, was arrested for being an accessory and interfering with a peace officer.
