The annual Butch Cassidy Celebration will be held June 8th at the one jail where the infamous outlaw did time, the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site in Laramie.

This one-day Festival includes outdoor activities for kids: baseball toss, bubbleology, shooting gallery, a “prisoner” escape, petting zoo and money scramble.

"The money scramble is where we throw coins into straw," says Deborah Amend, Superintendent at the Territorial Prison Historic Site.  "Kids can scramble for the money they find.  That's being sponsored by several of the banks and credit unions in town."

Festivities also include horse-drawn Stagecoach rides, Trick Ropers’ performance, tractor rides and Bolivian dancers from South America. Vintage cars will also be on display.

For admission: children under 11 are free, 12 to 17 are $2.50, Adults are $5.

Also on Saturday author Mac Blewer and Gary Puls, assistant superintendent for the Territorial Prison site, will be giving a presentation on Wyoming outlaws and lawmen.  There will also be food and vendors on site, as well as the prison museum and broom making facility being open during the event.

The festival takes place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Wyoming State Territorial Prison Historic Site in West Laramie.
