Laramie may move one step closer to receiving $5.4 million to develop the Cirrus Sky Technology Park next week. The Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors will be reviewing community applications for Business Ready Community (BRC) grant funds at its December 6th meeting in Laramie.

The City of Laramie has requested a $5,466,331 Community Readiness grant for the creation of the Cirrus Sky Technology Park. A release from the Business Council says the funds would be used for the purchase of the purposed 149 acre site, and will provide the construction of approximately 1.5 miles of new road and existing road extension, water, sewer, data fiber conduit, and underground utilities.

Laramie's grant application is one of five that the board will be reviewing. Recommendations for all BRC projects will be forwarded to the State Loan and Investment Board for a final decision on Jan. 17, 2013. Business Council Staff currently recommends a $4 million BRC Community Readiness grant with a $1,466,331 BRC Community Readiness loan according to a release.

The meeting will be at the Holiday Inn, 204 S. 30th Street, in Laramie on Thursday, Dec. 6th. The tentative agenda has the board scheduled to begin review BRC projects at 12:45 p.m.
