Brief But Intense Snow Squalls Expected In SE Wyoming Today

Forecasters with the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service don't expect any big snow storms in southeast Wyoming today, but the area could see some fairly intense snow squalls that could make travel difficult.

The service posted this statement on its website on Tuesday morning:

"Conditions are ripe for snow squalls today across the highlighted area as a fast-moving, strong upper low passes over the region. Snow squalls are brief periods of intense snowfall, gusty winds, and low visibility that can disorienting if caught under one. Best chances for snow squalls to develop are between noon and 6 PM today. As snow squalls are challenging to forecast, this is a medium confidence forecast. While road temperatures may be warm enough, if intense snowfall does develop and continues for a longer period of time, roads will become snow covered and slick."
