LARAMIE -- In anticipation of predicted hazardous blizzard conditions, Albany County School District 1 will be closed on Wednesday, March 13.

In a late afternoon email, Dr. Jubal Yennie, ACSD#1 superintendent, said, "This decision has been made after consultation with the National Weather Service. School buildings and district facilities will be closed. Bus routes will not run. All activities and field trips have been canceled."

Yennie said this does not follow closure procedures as district officials typically do not cancel school based on a weather forecast.

"However, in this situation, anticipated storm impacts including heavy snow and sustained wind gusts will take place at the time when school would release. Our primary concern is the safety of our students, parents and staff."

Any closure or delay information beyond Wednesday will be communicated prior to 6 a.m. Thursday, March 14.
