Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team Black says that preliminary investigations suggest that the Badger Creek Fire is human-caused.

The fire remains under investigation, however and officials are encouraging those with any information on activity occurring in the area near Mountain Home off-highway vehicle trails north of Forest Road 501 and south of Forest Road 544 to call the anonymous tip line at 307-745-2392.

When calling the tip line, officials ask that callers provide information about the date, time, location and any identifying facts about the activity.

The fire remains at 20,090 acres and containment is 88 percent. There have been no reported injuries and two reported illnesses of resources assigned to the fire, according to fire managers.

WYO 230 is open as of 9 a.m. Tuesday. All evacuation orders have been lifted. Fire managers say there may still be hazards in the area and motorists are urged to use caution and drive slowly, as fire engines and heavy equipment continue to work throughout the fire area. Fire-weakened and beetle-killed trees could fall without warning.

A public meeting has been scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19 at the Albany County Fairgrounds.

Updates can be found on InciWeb and the Badger Creek Fire Facebook page.
