Gowdy is best known as the longtime “voice” of the Boston Red Sox, but he was born in Green River, Wyoming and played basketball and tennis at the University of Wyoming.

Kari Eakins, Townsquare Media A 91-point bull ride was the reward for those in attendance at the final PRCA Rodeo Performance for Laramie Jubilee Days on Sunday afternoon at the Albany County Fairgrounds. The ride on Full Throttle made Ardie Maier $3,847.50 richer and gave a fitting close to the 2012 edition of Laramie Jubilee Days.

The bulls may have gotten the best of most of the cowboys, but the crowd was the ultimate winner at the Mr. T Classic Xtreme Bull Riding on Wednesday night at the Albany County Fairgrounds. The bulls from Burns Rodeo Company bucked all but two professional bull riders and put on a heck of a show in the process.

The Laramie Rangers overcame a sour start to win the Dooley Oil Classic this weekend in Laramie as Cowboy Field celebrated its 50th Anniversary. Laramie defeated Bear Creek 12-4 in the championship game.
