Did you make a new year's resolution to read more in 2018? The Albany County Public Library's annual winter reading challenge might help motivate you to reach your reading goals.

The challenge started on January 1 and will go through March 31. This year's challenge has 40 items to commemorate the 40th year of the Friends of the Albany County Public Library and the Albany County Library Foundation, which help provide materials to the library. Challenge items include: a book bought at a library book sale, a book published the year you were born, a book with a one word title, and more.

For every four challenge items completed, participants will receive one entry into the weekly prize drawing. All entries will also go into the grand prize drawing. Weekly prizes for this year's challenge include: library pint glasses, mugs, and tote bags. This years grand prize drawing will contain: a yearlong membership to Friends of the Albany County Public Library, gift cards to Night Heron and Out of Print, library card socks, and more.

Challenge participants will also receive extra entries for posting their reads on social media and tagging the Albany County Public Library or using the hashtag #ACPLWinterReads.

The challenge list can be found by clicking this link or at the front desk of the Albany County Public Library.
