2021 Wyoming High School Alpine Skiing State Championships are in Jackson
The 2021 Wyoming High School Alpine Skiing State Championships will be on March 5 and 6 in Jackson.
The Snow King Mountain Resort will be the site of this year’s championship races on Friday and Saturday.
Here’s a breakdown of the schools involved, the defending champions, and the schedule.
GIRLS:
Teams Participating = Cody, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Pinedale
Defending Champ = Jackson (seeking 12th consecutive title & 30th in school history)
Defending Event Champs = New in GS; Sidney Nash, Jackson in the slalom
BOYS:
Teams Participating = Cody, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Pinedale
Defending Champ = Jackson (seeking a 10th straight title, 21st in school history)
Defending Event Champs = There will be new champions in both races
Schedule:
Friday: Giant Slalom, 10 a.m. (Lower Elk run – Lane 7)
FRIDAY RESULTS:
Jackson swept the top 2 in the girls' race and the top four in the boys' race to start the state championships.
Morgan Kilmain (1:29.41) and Eddie Owens (1:26.69) were the race winners.
Girls Team Standings = Jackson 72, Cody 39, Natrona County 28, Kelly Walsh 15, Laramie 10, Pinedale 7
Boys Team Standings = Jackson 79, Cody 45, Natrona County 22, Kelly Walsh 17, Laramie & Pinedale 4
Saturday: Slalom, 10 a.m. (Lower Cougar run – Lane 4)
