Repairs to the 15th Street Bridge are scheduled to begin this month.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation says crews with the Reiman Corp. are expected to begin working on the bridge around Oct. 23, weather permitting. The work is scheduled to continue through December.

During repairs, the bridge will remain open to traffic, using the one-lane configuration currently in place. However, WYDOT says the bridge will have a one to two-day closure during the jacking phase of the repair. WYDOT will announce when that closure will be.

The repairs include pouring new concrete support columns to replace those damaged in the crash on May 21, when a tractor trailer struck the bridge. One of the columns was destroyed and another was damaged.

The Wyoming Transportation Commission was awarded a $380,432 contract to Reiman for repair work to the bridge.

WYDOT says it is also planning other maintenance work to the bridge.
