All-State honors in high school football were announced last week by the Wyoming Coaches Association, and six players achieved a very extraordinary accomplishment with that accolade.

For just the third time in state history, a player earned all-state for the fourth time a career. That rare feat belongs to Lusk’s Drake Lamp. He joins Meeteetse’s Ty Barrus (1987-90) and Kaycee’s James Caro (2009-12) in that select fraternity, according to wyoming-football.com.

Per All-State records with the WCA, five more players received all-state for the third time in their career. One of those players was on a team that won a state championship during the 2020 season.

Here’s the group that received All-State accolades for the third time or fourth time in their prep football career:

Carson Bates – Big Horn

Graedyn Buell – Cheyenne East (4A State Champion)

Logan Cole – Thermopolis

Hyrum Hatch – Buffalo

Drake Lamp – Lusk (4X All-State)

Carter Lobatos – Cheyenne Central

WyoPreps extends our sincerest congratulations to all of these players.

Ten juniors received all-state in 2020 for the second time in their career. They have an opportunity to join this elite group of players next year.
