Wyoming’s Jackie McBride Receives MW Player of the Week Honor
For the first time in her career, Wyoming sophomore middle blocker Jackie McBride has been chosen as Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
McBride led the Cowgirls to the Rumble in the Rockies team title with a 3-0 record. She was named the tournament MVP. McBride recorded 26 kills over the three matches with a .442 hitting percentage. Her 35 points led Wyoming on the weekend.
In last Saturday’s upset of No. 15 Colorado, McBride recorded five kills in the decisive fifth set out of UW’s 11 total kills. She had 14 total kills, a .417 hitting percentage, and five total blocks in that match.
In the opener versus North Florida, the sophomore had four kills and five blocks. She then hit a perfect 1.000 against Oral Roberts with eight kills and six blocks.
McBride is third in the MW with a .442 hitting percentage this season and ranks fifth in blocks at 1.45 per set.
