For the second time this season, Wyoming sophomore Jackie McBride was chosen as the Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week Monday.

McBride had 23 total kills and a .354 hitting percentage in Wyoming’s victories over Colorado State and Air Force last week.

She had 10 kills and nine blocks versus the Rams in helping the Cowgirls to a four-set win last Tuesday. McBride added 13 kills, five blocks, and four digs in a comeback victory over Air Force. That included five kills in the fourth-set that aided UW to force a fifth set they won last Thursday.

The sophomore averaged 2.56 kills and 3.56 points per set. She added 1.56 blocks per set and one dig per set. She is one of five Cowgirls that already have at least 135 total kills this season.

McBride won the same honor Aug. 27, after the first weekend of the season.

Senior teammate Reed Copeland has also been honored twice this season but as the MW Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

Wyoming will host Utah State Thursday at 6:30 p.m. followed by Boise State Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Both matches are in the UniWyo Sports Complex.
