For a second consecutive season, University of Wyoming punter Ethan Wood is part of the Ray Guy Award Preseason Watch List.

Wood, who will be a senior this fall, has started every game of his college football career, which is 36 consecutive games since his freshman season. In 2015, Wood averaged 41.2 yards per punt. He helped the Cowboys rank No. 5 in the Mountain West and 40th nationally in net yards per punt at an average of 38.6 yards.

Wyoming's punter is one of three candidates from the Mountain West out of 27 total for the 2016 season. The other two are Michael Carrizosa from San Jose State and Hayden Hunt from Colorado State. Both were finalists for last year's award.

The Ray Guy Award is bestowed upon the nation’s best collegiate punter. Ten semifinalist will be selected Nov. 11. The three finalists will announced Nov. 22 after a voting process that includes coaches, sports information directors, media and past winners. The 2016 winner will be revealed Dec. 8 as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
