Wyoming Woman Killed, 2 Passengers Injured in Crash Near Lander
A woman died and her two passengers were injured in a Fremont County rollover crash Tuesday morning.
Toniette Munguia, 23, died at the scene. She was not wearing her seatbelt, according to a crash report from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
Her passengers, who were not identified publicly, were flown to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper for treatment.
Munguia was driving a Honda CR-V eastbound on 17-Mile Road shortly before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when the vehicle went off of the highway to the left and drive into a flood gate. The collision with the gate caused the Honda to be launched into the air and roll at least one and a half times.
The driver of the vehicle was seriously injured during the rollover, the report states, and one passenger was thrown from the vehicle. The other passenger was trapped inside the Honda and had to be pulled out by emergency responders.
The road surface was dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash.
The crash is being investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
