The Wyoming Union parking lot reopened today for “A” permit and visitor parking, following a three-month rehabilitation project.

As a result, all University of Wyoming bus traffic has resumed traditional routes, parking on Fraternity and Sorority Row returns to “R” parking, and Willett Drive returns to two-way traffic.

Specific bus route information may be found at the UW Transit and Parking Services website, In addition, a map of the traffic flow for the Union parking lot may be found at

Meanwhile, the Day Lot at the southwest corner of 15th Street and Willett Drive will partially open in mid-September. That lot -- which provides pay-by-space parking via a kiosk that accepts cash, Visa and MasterCard -- has been closed due to the Half Acre Gymnasium construction project. The lot will accommodate about 32 vehicles when it opens, including four handicap-accessible spaces.

“We certainly want to work with the contractors to enable them to finish the Half Acre project and appreciate their willingness to open half of the lot,” says Paul Kunkel, Transit and Parking Services manager.

The remainder of the Day Lot is scheduled to open in November after the final phase of the Half Acre project is completed.
