Wyoming Schools With the Most Football State Championships [LIST]

Wyoming High School football has reached the midpoint of the 2022 season.

Teams begin the stretch run towards the playoffs, which means that chasing the dream of a state championship is ramping up. The state football championship games will be at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie on Nov. 11 and 12, 2022.

These are the schools that have the most football state championships in state history through the 2021 season.

1. Sheridan Broncs

Sheridan has the most state championships in Wyoming High School football history with 28. Their most recent was in 2021, and they've won five of the last seven Class 4A state football titles.

2. Cokeville Panthers

The Panthers have won 22 football championships in school history. Cokeville's most recent was in 2014.

3. Natrona County Mustangs

The Casper Natrona County Mustangs have won 18 football championships in school history. Their most recent was the Class 4A title in 2018.

4. Laramie Plainsmen

The Laramie Plainsmen have captured 16 football titles in school history. Their most recent one was in 1994.

5. Cheyenne Central and Worland (tied)

Cheyenne Central and Worland have 14 football championships in their school's history. The Indians last won a title in 2005. The Warriors' last championship came in 2003.

7. Star Valley Braves

The Star Valley Braves have 12 football state championships to their credit. The last one was in 2019.

8. Southeast Cyclones

The Southeast Cyclones have 10 state football championships in their school's history. They last won a title in 2020, the first Class 1A-9 Man trophy in the new classification structure.

9. Byron Eagles (defunct)

The defunct Byron Eagles football program won nine championships in school history. The final year the school played football was in 1982. The last title the Eagles won was in 1968 in the eight-man division.

10. Big Piney Punchers, Powell Panthers, Glenrock Herders, Thermopolis Bobcats

The Punchers, Panthers, Herders, and Bobcats all have 8 football titles to their credit. Big Piney's last one came in 2006. Powell's most recent championship was in 2013. The Herders last won a title back in 2008. Finally, the last time the Bobcats won it all was in 2010.
