The highway to heaven runs through Wyoming according to a new study ranking the Cowboy State as the sixth least sinful state in the country.

The list compared each state based on research related to the seven deadly sins of envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, sloth, and wrath. Wyoming ranked among the best-behaved states for crimes of jealousy, vanity, and vice. Vermont was the least sinful state in the study followed by Maine, North Dakota, Nebraska, Idaho, and Iowa.

While Wyoming is one of the most morally upstanding states, Nevada was named the most sinful state. Florida, California, Texas, and Tennessee rounded out the five worst states for unscrupulous activity.

Our neighbors in South Dakota and Utah also ranked among the ten least sinful states. Montana took 34th place in the sin study and Colorado finished 26th.
