Wyoming Senators Mike Enzi and John Barrasso are both expected to find President Trump not guilty on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of justice in the impending Senate impeachment trial. However, Enzi has struck a more cautious tone than Barrasso in the media, insisting that he will consider all of the evidence before rendering his verdict.

21 years ago, Enzi and fellow Wyoming Republican Senator Craig Thomas found former President Bill Clinton guilty on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice.

"(Clinton) was intending to influence the testimony of a likely witness in a federal civil rights proceeding,” Enzi told CBS News in 1998. "President Clinton was, in fact, trying to get Betty Currie to join him in his web of deception and obstruction of justice".

At the time, Enzi was a freshman Senator just one year into his first term. Four terms later, the Thermopolis native and former Gillette Mayor is preparing to walk away from Washington, D.C. In May, Enzi announced he will not seek reelection in 2020.

Could the outgoing Senator surprise everyone and find Trump guilty?

Not likely, during his 22 years in office, Enzi has been regarded among the most conservative Senators and has rarely broken ranks with his fellow Republicans.
