Wyoming Highway Patrol Promotion, Retirement Announcements Made
Wyoming Highway Patrol has announced the promotion of one trooper to sergeant, while a long serving legend has retired.
The promotion of Trooper Jeremy Beck was announced Friday in a release. Sergeant Beck will now serve as the Public Relations and Recruiting Sergeant for the Safety and Training Division. He will be the departments primary point of contact with media outlets.
Beck is a former K-9 handler, WHP firearms instructor, Child Seat Technician, Executive Protection Detail member, and part of the Special Services Squad.
One of Sergeant Beck's first assignments as the new Public Relations Sergeant was to announce the retiring of Lt. Will Zilka.
Lt. Zilka served as Lieutenant of the Gillette division since 2000, and served for a total of 27 years with the WHP after beginning his career in Rock Springs, Wyo. in 1991.
