The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has a new Department Director. Governor Mead has elected Scott Talbott, a twenty-six year veteran of the department, to lead the agency.

Talbott was based in Casper and held the position of assistant chief of the departments Wildlife Division. The move was announced Yesterday, February 17th and is effective immediately.

Governor Mead mentioned in a release that Scott Talbott is dedicated to Wyoming's wildlife and is also well equipped to work with those who represent diverse interests. He will replace Steve Ferrell who was the previous Department Director.

Three candidates were nominated by the Game and Fish Commission for the position. The two who did not obtain the Director position were Mary Flanderka and Brian Nesvik. Flanderka is currently a habitat protection supervisor for the agency and Nesvik is a regional wildlife supervisor.
