The National High School Finals Rodeo will continue on Wednesday in Gillette and the Wyoming girls team is currently in 2nd place with 1146.66 points, with Texas in 1st place. Yoder's Haiden Thompson who is the defending national champion in goat tying is currently leading that event in the first go-round with a time of 7.06. Thompson is also 23rd in the reined cow horse event and is 10th in the all-around. Sheridan's Tavy Leno is  3rd in the goat tying at this juncture. Rayne Grant from Wheatland is 3rd in the barrel racing at 17.236 and 3rd in the pole bending at 20.178. She is currently the leading in the all-around. Ashlyn Goven from Rozet is 10th in the pole bending, Kaeley Hutchinson from Rozet sits in 11th place in the breakaway roping with a time of 2.76 with Adeline Norstegaard in 14th place in the cutting with 143.

On the boy's side, the Wyoming team is in 10th place with Tuker Carricato from Saratoga sitting in 3rd place in the bareback with a 78. Roedy Farrell of Thermopolis is 10th with a 71. Gillette's Hayden Welsh is 6th in the bull riding with a 77 and Arvada's Chance Sorenson is 30th in the steer wrestling with a 7.44.

The National High School finals is billed as the largest outdoor rodeo in the world with close to 1600 contestants. There will be 2 sessions per day through Saturday at 9 am and 7 pm. We have some photos to show you courtesy of Dee Welsch from Tuesday at the Camplex. Enjoy!
