The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has posted Winter Weather Advisories for the cities of Cheyenne and Laramie, with Winter Storm Warnings posted in other areas.

The following statement was posted on the agency's website as of Monday morning:

''New winter weather advisories are in effect later this evening from Arlington to Laramie along Interstate 80 and from Cheyenne up to Glendo along Interstate 25. Worst travel conditions expected during the evening and overnight periods as heavier bands set up creating areas of slick roads potentially and limited visibility. Highest snowfall accumulations will be over the mountains with upwards of two feet possible. Given the timing of this snowfall event, daytime snow is expected to melt on road surfaces but may stick to grass and non-road surfaces sooner given cooler temperatures. Any snow that does stick to your driveway will be a wet and heavy snow. Give time and breaks for removal.'
