"A lot of snow, very quickly," That's how Metorilogist Andrew Lyons from the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne describes what southeast Wyoming is facing.

From the NWS:

  • Blizzard Warning for I-80 Summit and south Laramie Range
  • Potent winter storm to impact early travelers for the Thanksgiving Holiday through Tomorrow afternoon
  • Areas of heavy snow of 8-16” likely from Sidney to Rawlins and from the Colorado State Line to Douglas
  • Winter Storm Warnings for SE WY mountains through 6 PM Tuesday.

Parts of I-80 are also closed Monday Night.

Travel is expected to be very difficult, if not impossible Monday night through Tuesday. Especially along the I-80 corridor. Nearly two feet of snow is possible at higher elevation like the summit. The NWS describes the Interstate 80, Insterstate 25 crossroads as an extream travel impact zone.
