Weld County Sheriff’s Deputy Rescues Stranded Water Bird
A Weld County Sheriff's officer on Friday rescued a Grebe that was stuck in the snow, according to a post on the agency's Facebook page.
According to the post, Animal Control Officer Rebecca Farris responded to a report of a bird not moving in a driveway off Weld County Roads 35 and 394 around 10 a.m. Friday morning.
The bird turned out to be a Grebe, an aquatic diving bird common in North America, Asia and Europe. Farris was able to catch the bird, placing it in a blanket and putting it in a cage.
She later released the bird in a body of water.
