I've had a lot of hobbies in my life, but I'll never add this one to the list. It's called "herping" some Wyoming kids show how it's done if searching for snakes is on your to-do list.

Wikipedia defines "herping" as "the act of searching for amphibians or reptiles". Nope. Not gonna do it. However, for many this is a fun hobby. Before I share the video these kids just shared in Wyoming, a serious note. "Herping" is DANGEROUS. I'm not sure what kind of training (if any) they did before exploring this hobby, but if you turn over a rock in the Wyoming plains, you just might end up on the wrong side of a rattlesnake bite.

Now that I have that out of the way, these kids sure have a good time with...snakes.

The bull snake was sure an interesting find. Relatively harmless to humans, but dangerous to rattlers, if there's one snake I'm a fan of, it's the bull snake.

The milk snakes they seem enamored with sure are colorful. They are part of the King snake family and are also harmless to humans.

Cornell University explored the hobby of herping and recommended that you look but don't touch if you do it. I'm a fan of that philosophy. It's also relatively safer. I would fear waking up a sleeping rattlesnake and so should you. As it is, it's an interesting share from some Wyoming kids that sure are braver than me.
