UW President’s Evaluation Will Not Be Released
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The University of Wyoming Board of Trustees says it does not plan to publicly release the details of its review of its president's performance.
The Laramie Boomerang reports Board President John MacPherson says, "Personnel matters are confidential by state statute."
Faculty Senate Chair Michael Barker says part of the review of University of Wyoming President Laurie Nichols should be made public so the university community can know the results.
Part of the review process was open to the public, including a day in February when members of the university community were invited to share their thoughts on the president's performance with evaluator Steve Portch, the former chancellor of Georgia's 34-campus university system.
This was the first time the university used an external evaluator to review the president.
