UNIVERSITY OF WYOMING PRESS RELEASE:

“No Strings Attached” continues the University of Wyoming spring Faculty Recital Series Sunday, March 9, at 3 p.m. in the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall. The UW Department of Music sponsors the free public concert.

The music program will feature UW Department of Music Associate Professors Scott Meredith, trumpet; Blake McGee, clarinet; and Chi-Chen Wu on piano. They will perform chamber music compositions from Stanley Friedman, Herbert L. Clarke, James Stephenson and Niccolo Paganini as part of the “No Strings Attached: Music for trumpet, clarinet and piano” program.

Friedman and Clarke are both American-born trumpet players as well as composers. Stephenson, a Chicago native, has collaborated with world-famous classical and jazz performers. Paganini, a 19th-century legend, was a virtuoso violinist whose compositions for his instrument are still considered to be some of the most technically demanding in the repertoire.
