University of Wyoming Hosts Tour de Wish
The UW chapter of Chi Omega will be hosting the fourth annual Tour de Wish in Laramie on Saturday, September 22 in Washington Park.
The Tour de Wish is a walk, run, and bike 5k organized to raise money for Make-a-Wish Wyoming. Bicyclists, walkers, and runners of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate in the 5k.
Registration is currently open and costs $15 for those who register early. Participants can also sign up on race day for $20. Children ages 10 and under can participate with a $5 registration fee. Race day registration starts at 8:30 a.m. All proceeds from the 5k will benefit Make-a-Wish Wyoming.
Make-a-Wish Wyoming has been granting wishes for children ages 2 to 17 with progresssive, degenerative, or malignant illnesses since 1985. The first wish granted in Wyoming was that of 10 year old Brian from Gillette, who wished for a BMX bike. Since then, more than 500 wishes have been granted, and there are 35 currently in progress.
