Since the tragic closing of Sheri’s, Laramigos have mourned the loss of the establishment with amazing hours, delicious pie, and adequate coffee. It might seem like a pie-less wasteland on the front range now, but have no fear! Here are the top five places to find pie in Laramie for Pi (3/14) day! π

Chains like Perkins always have perfectly crafted pies lining the display cases in front of their restaurants. It’s almost like they’re taunting you with the exorbitant amount of whipped cream and flaky crusts. If you’re looking for a sure-fire way to find Pie, and get it NOW, Perkins is your place to go. Located uptown near the Holiday Inn, you can gorge yourself on fruit pies, cream pies, or my personal favorite, the mammoth muffins.

Maybe not your typical flaky pie crust, but at Coal Creek Coffee, you can get a “Hot Apple Pie” in liquid form! Along with their large selection of baked goods, you can get a hot drink to keep you warm in the Wyoming Winters. Their desserts change depending on the season, but you might be able to snag some Pie for Pi day, and if not, a hot apple pie beverage sounds like a worthy substitute.

Another out-of-the-box Pie selection, heading to O’Dwyers near the University will treat you to a different kind of pie. A meat pie. Their house specialty are the pastys, an Irish meat pie with steak, potatoes, rutabagas, onions and carrots wrapped in a flaky pie crust. You can also get an Irish version to get ready for St. Paddy’s Day with an Irish Pasty and add lamb to the mix!

Not just for cakes anymore! Sweets Cakes and Pastry shows a plethora of baked goods on their facebook page, with everything from macarons to cake pops, cookies, truffles and everything in between. They also occasionally carry Apple Pie tarts that are to die for! Located in Historic Downtown Laramie, Sweets is a convenient and fun place to stop on your hunt for pie in the Gem City. Maybe you’ll find something even better!

A small scratch bakery just outside of West Laramie on Highway 130 featuring artisan breads, cakes pasties, to-go lunches and best of all: Pie! With dozens and dozens of reviews and not a single fraction below 5 stars, this hidden gem might be the best place to get pie in Laramie. Only open on Fridays and Saturdays officially, customers can call for custom orders or catering and the baker reminds everyone that they can stop by “Any time the light is on.” How’s that for Laramie hospitality?
