It is based on COVID-19 antibody tests performed on routine blood samples in 16,000 people in 10 U.S. regions.

Wyoming remains one of just a couple states with no known coronavirus cases among its inmates.

The Wyoming Department of Corrections will begin testing all inmates and employees for COVID-19 next week, the agency announced Wednesday.

The potential downsides include lower accuracy and longer waits to deliver results to some people.

The agency reports 788 active cases among the nearly 25,000 people it has in custody in about 200 facilities.

Officials say another recently publicized case at Life Care Center of Casper was unrelated to that facility as well.

The samples go to a wastewater epidemiology company in Massachusetts.

More test results are pending, the department said.

The tests currently cost $100 each for a testing kit and shipping.

The two primary types of test which are currently available are viral tests and antibody tests.
