It doesn't matter where you were on Wednesday evening (November 17th), you could tell there was a significant drop in the temperature. Earlier this week, we were sitting pretty with some temperatures in the 60s. Sure, there was plenty of wind, but overall, we would take that in mid November. But come Wednesday night, we were the coldest state in the U.S.
We all know it's fall and with the season comes colder temperatures, but it hasn't been until this week that Wyoming will see them, according to this week's forecast. And based on a recent scientific study, it's definitely tougher to wake up when it's colder.
Several communities saw the mercury drop well down into the 30s and even upper 20s overnight, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
