New Wyoming Supercomputer Named By Eighth-Grader
As you may have heard, there's a new supercomputer, which will be based in Cheyenne, and will rank among the world's fastest supercomputers in existence. What you may not know is that the new supercomputer has a new name, thanks to the help from an eighth-grader in Riverton, WY.

UW faculty members will lead projects – including identification of promising catalysts for carbon fuel and chemical production, cloud seeding and a study of the Blair-Wallis watershed- that will use the NCAR- Wyoming Supercomputing Center.
UW Researchers Use Supercomputer
Two of the six initial projects that will run on the supercomputer, nicknamed “Cheyenne,” will be led by University of Wyoming researchers, according to a UW news release.
