The public is invited and encouraged to attend all events, including the Law Enforcement Torch Run Wyoming, which brings the “Flame of Hope” to officially open the State Winter Games.
According to the release, money raised by the event goes to provide year-round sports training and competition and to help athletes live healthier lives and feel a sense of inclusion in the community.
Wyoming will be represented by two incredible athletes during the Special Olympics World Winter Games, which will be held in Kazan Russia on January 22-25.
Wyoming will once again host the Jackalope Jump benefitting Special Olympics Wyoming this year and they are adding a twist to this year’s event by offering ‘Virtual Jackalope Jumps.’
The Gem City was swarming with athletes, as Laramie welcomed the 2019 Special Olympics Wyoming Summer Game participants and their families this past week.
During the event, representatives from local, statewide and federal law enforcement agencies wear bright yellow while carrying the "Flame of Hope" across Wyoming.
