Severe Weather

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about the possibility of severe thunderstorms in the Nebraska Panhandle on Friday.

More than 100,000 customers are without power.

Some polling stations were moved and others opened late as Super Tuesday voting began.

Just before 3:20 p.m., a storm chaser reported seeing the tornado eight miles east of Guernsey.

The stormy weather is expected to continue Tuesday in eastern Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and western Illinois.

Hurricane Michael is breaking records already. CNN is reporting that the storm will be the first Category 4 hurricane to hit the Florida Panhandle.

Wyoming has seen unusual severe weather from tornadoes and damaging hail, to severe thunderstorms.

Heavy rain and possible flash flooding are in the forecast for the area on Sunday, June 17.

The closest funnel cloud touched down approximately 9 miles north of Laramie.

Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr took to Twitter Sunday evening to criticize the decision to activate the sirens.
