This is the first reported incident of a person injured by a bison in 2025. There were two reported incidents in 2024 and one in 2023.

Bison are unpredictable and can run three times faster than humans.

According to the National Park Service, a 25-year-old female from Ohio was gored by a bison after being within 10 feet of the animal.

A distance of at least 100 yards should be maintained from all bears and wolves.
