Stay weather aware! The NWS warns of severe storms in southeast Wyoming, with hail, damaging winds, and even a potential tornado risk.

Flood Watches are in effect from noon through this evening, which include the cities of Cheyenne and Laramie.

There will be a lot of monsoon moisture in place today to see storms producing heavy rain. A Marginal Risk area for excessive rainfall has been identified for the Nebraska Panhandle and southeast Wyoming

People are being warned to be on the lookout for possible flash flooding later in the week.

Wednesday's temperatures were a far cry from the usual, with several locations in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle either setting or tying record highs.

Slow-moving thunderstorms could bring heavy rain to the Cheyenne area early this afternoon through the evening hours, which could lead to some flash flooding.

Tropical Depression Claudette has claimed 12 lives in Alabama as the storm swept across the southeastern U.S., causing flash flooding and spurring tornadoes that destroyed dozens of homes.

Moderate, to at times, heavy rainfall could be briefly possible this afternoon across the Mullen Burn Scar in Albany County and Carbon County.

Strong winds, large hail, flash flooding and, even a few tornadoes are possible.

Quarter-size hail winds up to 60 mph and very heavy rain are the main hazards with these storms.
