The university says 1,170 graduate and professional students are expected to enroll, a 39% decline from the previous year.

For the upcoming fall semester at the University of Wyoming, a drop of in enrollment from the fall of 2019 of nearly 1,900 students is expected.

In all, the university is expecting a total enrollment of more than 12,400.

Mathis says he's pleased with the school's finances and its expected enrollment growth.

Moore says the university also is enrolling a greater share of Wyoming high school graduates.

The university's closure of two dorm buildings last year is also contributing to the impending student housing shortage.

Students must confirm they're attending by Aug. 1, so the numbers may change between now and then.

UW is also continuing to develop and adjust 2+2 plans with community colleges.

The University of Wyoming is reporting that enrollment is up by one percent since this time last year.
