Tragedy was narrowly avoided on Thursday night, when a vehicle traveling through the intersection of 2nd and David Street struck a stroller carrying children.
The sun was shining, the music was blaring, and the community turned out in droves for the Casper Police Department's first-ever Downtown Block Party, held Wednesday evening in front of the Hall of Justice in Casper.
It wasn't much. It wasn't a check for $100,000 or the title to a purple corvette. It was a simple card, with a simple mesage: 'Dear Officer, We Need You.'
According to the report, at 12:17pm, on the afternoon of December 8, 2020, Casper Fire-EMS units were dispatched to the 1400 Block of S. Jackson Street after concerned parties reported that smoke was coming from the front of a residential structure. No injuries were reported and the resident was not home at the time of the fire.
Within the time span of the last two weeks, one of the Casper Police Department speed limit trailers was vandalized near McKinley and 10th Street by Washington Park.
The Casper Police Department has been very diligent with keeping residents abreast on the safety of children, especially in regard to them being left unattended in vehicles during these summer months.
