Larissa Ford and Sarah Holles were each awarded the STARR Charitable Foundation Scholarship to attend MSU.

Edmund “Ed” Synakowski received the DOE’s Meritorious Service Award during a ceremony at UW on Wednesday, the university says. He was awarded for “strong and insightful leadership” as the agency’s associate director of science over the past eight years.

Josh Heiner, a Ph.D. student in UW’s Department of physics and astronomy, was selected for the NSF’s East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes program, in conjunction with the Royal Society of New Zealand.
