The Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library in Sheridan has recently made a new feature available to its patrons: a Seed Library. The concept is simple, it's a free, seed-lending program that encourages budding gardeners to "borrow" and plant the seeds. After the seeds sprout and become plants, the gardener can then gather the seeds and bring them back to the library to return them.

The library in Laramie has a similar program known as the High Plains Seed Library.

The High Plains Seed Library is available through the Albany County Public Library System. While veteran growers may know about it, I certainly hadn't even heard of a seed library until today. I think I'm going to need to take my library card there after work and see what I can grow this spring.

Have you ever grown something from a seed library? Tell us your story!
