A new school year for 2019-2020 is now underway and so is the new high school sports calendar year around the state.

For Laramie High School 2018-19 brought about three state championships in girls’ and boys’ swimming and diving and girls’ indoor track and field. There were also a couple of runner-up performances in volleyball and girls’ outdoor track and field.

KOWB’s David Settle (who cut off his own head) caught up with Laramie High school Athletics and Activities Director Ron Wagner to reflect on his first year on the job and look ahead to year two in the video above. Wagner admitted it was a lot, but he did enjoy it. He was asked about surprises, positives, the direction he wants LHS to head in, and some of the feedback he’s received.

The fall season for golf and tennis is already in full swing, while cross country, football, girls’ swimming and diving, and volleyball start this weekend.
