Wyoming's "Miracle Mile" is one of the best fly fishing destinations in the world. If you're not careful though, you might reel in more than just a trout, as the host of a popular YouTube fishing series recently learned when he encountered a huge rattlesnake on the banks of the North Platte River.

"Scared the crap out of me," the host of That's A Good Fish Payden Bennet admitted. "I'm gonna get out of here because that's as close as I'd like to be to one of the most venomous snakes. The fishing's great over here, but I'm pretty spooked."

Bennet and his crew are professional anglers from Missouri who travel around the country looking for the best fishing holes. Aside from their encounter with the rattlesnake, their trip to Wyoming was a success.

"It's been phenomenal," Bennet said. "I just don't know if there are streams that are better for big trout than the one we're fishing right now."

The Miracle Mile is actually a five-mile stretch southwest of Casper near Pathfinder Reservoir on the North Platte. The area earned its nickname after a 1998 study estimated an average of 4,469 trout per square mile in the river between Pathfinder and the Kortes Dam.
